The RSCM Somerset Area are delighted to be able to welcome Simon Lole to conduct choral evensong at Taunton Minster (St.Mary Magdalene).
As a choral specialist and workshop leader with both children and adults, Simon has travelled the world and is in great demand for his inspiring leadership and infectious humour. As a choral director, Simon also works regularly for the BBC. He is one of the main Musical Directors for BBC Radio 4’s “The Daily Service”, was vocal coach and accompanist for BBC Radio 2’s “Young Chorister of the Year” competition for many years, and is also a regular conductor and accompanist on BBC TV’s “Songs of Praise”.
Repertoire: The repertoire includes Brewer in D, Reading responses, and Bairstow ‘Save us O Lord’ plus two great hymns to showcase the Father Willis organ. Music will be provided for all singers on the day free of charge – but donations are requested to help cover expenses, conductor’s fee etc. Please don’t forget to return music packs after the service.
Refreshments will be available during the tea break.
