Those who have died

Service: 6:30 pm All Souls Holy Communion

Preacher: Revd Dennis Cavaghan

Readings: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, John 6:37-40

The Lighting of the First (purple) Candle – GRIEF
May the lighting of this candle representing grief, help us to symbolise our pain and sorrow, as with time we work through our grief and move towards strength.

The Lighting of the Second (rose) Candle – MEMORY
In lighting this candle we acknowledge our precious memories, memories that cannot be diminished by the passage of time.  Remembrance, like a candle, shines brightly.

The Lighting of the Third (white) Candle – HOPE
With hope we light this candle, knowing that life and love are eternal, and death is only an horizon.  That horizon is only the limit of our sight.  It is our fondest hope that love will bring peace to each of us this day, and in the days to come.
