Salvation is Costly

Service:  10:00 am Holy Communion

Preacher:  Revd Dennis Cavaghan

Readings:  Isaiah 50: 4-9a & Luke 19: 28-47

Do we cringe from confronting, reconciling, practising tough love, committing to service?

And what else? What else do we hold back from doing? What else do we fear to do?

Jesus shows us how costly it was to love and to save people and he calls us to follow his example.

The Cost and Courage of Caring Motherhood

Service:  10:00 am Holy Communion

Preacher:  Revd Sheila Murray

Readings:  Exodus 2: 1-10 & Luke 2: 33-35

The determined courage of the midwives, the strong love of Moses’ mother, the compassion of Pharaoh’s daughter and the insight of Miriam.  Who nurtured and cared for you … and your faith?  We give thanks.

Hilasmos – Temptation or Testing?

Service:  10:00 am Holy Communion

Preacher:  Revd Dennis Cavaghan

Readings:  Deuteronomy 26:1-11 & Luke 4: 1-13

Did you know that the Greek word “Hilasmos” means both temptation and testing?  Our trials and tribulations can be seen as either the devil tempting us to fail or God testing us to make us stronger.
