So, we continue the tradition for Harvest and for Creation (Creationtide from 1st September to 4th October has come to an end in the church calendar). We are now broadening our vision to look at the whole of creation.
There are tips in the Today sheets and Together magazines on the subject …
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25
The CO2 in the atmosphere and the earth’s temperature have been steadily rising, which coincides with increasing energy use and pollution. Appreciate and protect God’s world by thinking – do I really need to drive? Could I walk/use the bus/cycle instead this time? Could I drive someone else to church so that not so many journeys are being made? Maybe this will also help us spur one another on? Make a new friend?
God, Creator of all, made known to us in Jesus, among us by your Spirit, we bring to you our concerns for the earth, its life and its people ….
God in your mercy,
Hear our prayer.
