What a joyous occasion it was when we celebrated our Patronal Festival on Sunday 22nd July, with an uplifting service led by the Revd Dennis Cavaghan and a Bring and Share lunch to follow. Dennis talked about change and how the life of Mary Magdalene was changed by God, which gave us all plenty to think about. The children learnt about change by spreading water on a black and white painting to bring out the colours.
Of course, the previous day we held our Magdalene Fayre – guaranteed fine weather and a little cloud to keep the temperatures bearable. What a magnificent result – £1,575 profit, including sales in the coffee shop. A good amount to go to our Mission giving. Thanks are due to so many people but especially Claire and Nick Mort, Sandra Daw, their helpers and Sandra Hall and her team in the coffee shop. The ice-creams were very popular!
