At the moment, the cross above the pulpit is temporary.
We are hoping to commission a metal cross shaped to symbolise both the suffering and resurrection,.
We have agreed the design and are now looking for a metal smith to forge it.

“Generally, the church is in the season of remembrance. Our service for All Souls on Thursday evening was very moving. This Thursday at 11.00am, The Dedication of the Field of Remembrance Service will happen at the war memorial outside the church. It will be an opportunity for people to place wooden crosses in remembrance of those who have died in the armed services. Adrian Prior-Sankey, Lead Chaplain of the Taunton Team Chaplaincy, will be preaching at the Civic Service of Remembrance next Sunday. Please note the 9.30am start. After the service there will be a march to Vivary Park where we will hold two minutes’ silence and wreaths will be laid. On Saturday, 11th at 11am the town will fall silent and the Mayor will lead us in remembrance at the Market House.”

“Some while ago we invited you to fill in a time and talents form and, although the response was not huge, those who returned their forms were offering much needed help, Thank you so much. Without volunteers this church could not function in the way it does.”

The Community Peregrine project is developing with sponsorship from Coomber Alarm systems moving us very close to our target. We will try to obtain a speedy faculty for the electrical work involved so we can set the cameras up before the next breeding season. We hope to display the viewing TV in the North pew section near the flower prep area. No church money has been involved in this project.
We have produced a colour edition of this Today Sheet to demonstrate the quality of the new church photocopier. The copier also folds (no more work for the Book shop elves!) and staples when necessary. It is quick and amazing!
There are lots of folk who are new to St Mary’s and we are delighted you have joined us so we can worship God together and serve our local community.
