Confirmation and Communion

We were delighted that Ruth, Morwenna, Ashton, Elle, Ginny and Basil were confirmed on Thursday night by Bishop Ruth. It was a special occasion with a full church and a sense of God’s Holy Spirit truly blessing us. Today will be the first communion for those confirmed – another special, spiritual moment to savour. Please continue to pray for them.

Recently, Jane Tibbs from the Diocese came to talk about children taking communion before confirmation. This is now common practice in the Diocese and encouraged by the Bishops. It brings back the real meaning of confirmation which is making a public commitment to Christ and confirming the Baptism promises made on your behalf by parents and Godparents. However, if you disagree with this practice, please tell me or any other member of the PCC so we can make sure your objections are heard at the meeting.
