Christmas card recycling – plain paper cards can go into your council recycling box. But any with embellishments such as glitter, ribbons, jewels or foil which cannot be removed, have to go to landfill. Some supermarkets, such as Sainsbury’s, take plain cards for charity but only up to the 8th January or so. M & S are not doing it this year. Wrapping paper has to pass the scrunch test, which is – if you scrunch it up it stays scrunched! It can then be recycled.
