Champagne for St Mary’s Longest Married Couple

A Festival of Flowers – In Celebration of Marriage.

St Mary Magdalene Church, Taunton  9th – 12th July

Festival organiser Cheryl Birkett says, “We will be particularly pleased to welcome back people who were married at St Mary Magdalene in years gone by and plan to present a bottle of bubbly to the longest married couple who attend the preview event on Thursday.”

So far we’ve heard from:

JOAN AND PATRICK IN BRUTON

“My husband and I were married at St Mary Magdalene in Taunton in 1967 – 48 years ago. It  was a quiet wedding with about 50 guests. I worked at the National Provincial Bank, and we didn’t finish work until midday – so we had the ceremony at 1215 so my work friends could all be there.

My husband’s brother got married at St Mary Magdalelene 62 years ago!”

MIKE AND SYLVIE IN TAUNTON

“We were married at St Mary’s 47 years ago on 25 May 1968.”
