Just a reminder that the celebrations to mark the completion of the renovation of our Father Willis organ will take place throughout the autumn starting with a bumper musical extravaganza on Saturday, 12th October. There are posters at the back of the Church and in the lobby displaying the varied programme of music on offer. Miles Quick has put a huge amount of work into curating these and they are not to be missed! Please make a note of the dates in your diaries.
The renowned Father Willis organ at Saint Mary Magdalene Church, built by the foremost organ builder of the Victorian period, Henry Willis, has recently benefited from a complete renovation. The rich romantic sounds can now be heard in their full glory and with new versatility, thanks to a new and state-of-the-art computerised control system. Father Willis, who was a great innovator, would have loved it!
The results have been spectacularly successful, and during the autumn there will be a series of concerts featuring ‘New Father Willis’:-
