The Archbishop of Canterbury is inviting folk to view the Ash Wednesday service at Lambeth Palace live on Facebook. Tune in if you can.
“Next week you can watch some of our Ash Wednesday service at Lambeth Palace live here on Facebook. It’s going to be an intimate service in the 800-year-old Lambeth Palace Chapel, attended by my staff and members of the Community of St Anselm, the young international Christian community who live and pray here. I’d love you to join us live on Facebook.
We’ll be broadcasting the first part of the service – including my homily on the beginning of Lent. We’re going to be following the traditional liturgy from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer.
To watch just visit my Facebook page from 12:25 UK time next Wednesday, 10 February. (If you miss the broadcast you can watch the video on the page afterwards.) Please leave a comment below to let us know you’ll be joining us, then you’ll receive a notification when we are live.
I really hope you can join us for this new way of sharing our life of prayer and worship here at Lambeth Palace – on the first day of Lent, when as Christians we begin to make new space in ourselves for the hope of Jesus Christ.”
