For the protection of the congregation, and in light of Government advice and guidance from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York, we have decided that gathered worship (weekday prayers, Communions and Sunday worship) and group meetings will cease at St Mary Magdalene Taunton until further notice.
The church will remain open for anyone that wants to come and pray between the hours of 9am and 1pm.
If you need help, would like prayer, or are isolating either because of infection or to avoid infection please do contact:-
- The Office
- The Vicar
We are looking into ways of staying in contact with those that want it, and we will find ways of doing something virtually over Holy Week and Easter.
Matt Hancock (The Secretary of State for health and social care), in parliament yesterday Monday 16th of March
“Avoidable social contact means that religious groups are included.
It is recognised that through religious gatherings that the virus can spread
It is with deepest regret and the heaviest of heart that faith groups are included.”
