St John’s 50th Lunchtime Concert – Oana Dinea, Pianist

St John’s Church will celebrate its 50th lunchtime concert on 14th September.  The landmark is being honoured with a performance from Romanian-born pianist Oana Dinea who will play the music of Bach, Beethoven and Chopin. She’ll also undertake a master class tour of the West Country.

After establishing herself in Eastern Europe, Oana Dinea studied in Geneva where she was awarded two masters’ degrees – in musical interpretation and musical pedagogy.  These days she performs in Poland, Romania and Switzerland as well as teaching at the Conservatoire de Geneva and the Ecole de Musique à Lausanne.  She lives in Switzerland.

‘Oana is very committed to helping young music students achieve their capabilities and, along with three other colleagues, has established “The Pianistes en Scene pour une Cause Humaine”.  St John’s is very privileged that Oana has agreed to travel from her home in Switzerland to support the lunchtime concert series in Taunton.

The hour-long concert will begin as usual at 12.45 pm. Doors open at noon. The audience is invited to bring sandwiches. Drinks will be available.
