We will be appealing for your support for the Syrian Refugees over Christmas in the Coffee Shop area via Christian Aid. Please support this. To make way for this appeal, the Mission glass jar has been emptied and an incredible £438.94 has been collected. Thank you so much. This money goes towards our support for the Town Chaplaincy that does such good work. Thanks to Tim for counting this money.

We will be opening the Church for Christmas Shoppers on 3rd & 10th December and would really love your help. Simply come along and join us. The more people we have in the coffee shop area, the more welcoming St Mary’s feels. We meet for prayer at 6.30pm and will finish at 8.30pm. Please sign up at the back of church if you can help.
“I have invited Bishop Ruth to St Mary’s in the New Year and I am awaiting a date. If you would like to meet her before Christmas, she will be attending the NSPCC Charity Christmas Concert on17th December at 6.30pm and reading the lesson.”
“Rita and I are very aware that our church relies heavy on an army of volunteers – welcomers, listeners, book and coffee shop helpers, flower team, linen preparers, money counters, workers with young children, bell ringers, musicians etc. We would love to invite you all to the Vicarage to say a big ‘thank you’ on Sunday 6th December between 2.00pm and 6.00pm. We will provide tea and cakes – all we need is for you to feel you can come. You will be most welcome. Jack, our dog and Twinkle, our cat have promised to be on their best behaviour and act as ‘meeters and greeters for the afternoon! Do come.”
The Prince’s Trust Enterprise Programme provides a lot of help and opportunities for 18-30 year olds.

This is how God changes us … from the inside out.
“I am thrilled with the work Breakaway and the MU are doing in our church. Their latest initiative is a response to a call from MU worldwide to raise awareness of gender based violence. For sixteen days, beginning on 25th November, the MU is praying for victims of rape, stalking, forced marriage, female infanticide, trafficking, domestic abuse, sexual violence, “honour” based violence, online abuse and bullying, and female genital mutilation. We will be marking the 16 days with a display in the tower area and a prayer meeting there on 10th December. Just one fact to get us thinking: One in three women in the world will experience domestic violence (WHO).”
The Revd Steven Reed has stepped down as Taunton Town Lead Chaplain having done sterling work during the last two years. His place has been taken by Adrian Prior-Sankey who brings a wealth of ministerial experience and local knowledge to the post. Please pray for Adrian and Steven.
50/50 SALE Although the weather was against us, £348.03 was made at the clothes sale last Saturday. This will be shared between the organ and bell funds. Local charity shops and Open Door have also benefitted from the clothes that were left. A big thank you to all who gave items and donations, and especially to the team of helpers who worked so hard during this event. Unless one was there one cannot appreciate how many hours they so willingly gave.
