Collation of Canons’ Service

On Sunday 27th September, at our 10am service, we are privileged to have the Right Reverend David Njovu, Bishop of Lusaka with us along with Prebendery Stephen Lynas who is the Bishop’s Chaplain representing the Bishop of Baths & Wells for the Collation of Canons – when Jenny Humphries and Reverend John Kawanga will be made Canons of Lusaka Cathedral.

There will be a celebratory cake with our coffee after the service.

We do hope many of you will be with us for this very special service.

Computer Problems

The office computer is still out of action and in the meantime we are struggling. We cannot print in colour, and we cannot access the Upper Room/Social calendar. Apologies if dates are missing from the calendar on the back of these notices.

Bunting into Blankets

Yarn Bomb - DSCN5553 - 17.7.15-exp

Do you remember the knitted bunting we had up outside the church in July? Well, they have now been recycled and made up into blankets for us by Cheryl Partridge Pywell.

A huge thank you to Cheryl and to all who knitted all those rectangles for us.

Open Door Harvest Appeal

OPEN DOOR continues to support the ever increasing number of homeless folk sleeping rough, and gratefully appreciates our harvest offerings.

There is a copy of their harvest appeal for you to take away for your kind consideration.

Christianity Explored

The Christianity Explored banner has gone up outside reminding us that another course is about to start. It begins on October 1st at 2.00pm in the Upper Room and you would be most welcome to join us. It is a great way to discover or rediscover the basics of the faith. It will be led in an informal fun way sand no small group work is involved. Why not give it a try and sign up at the back of Church?

Choral Evensong

CHORAL EVENSONG on Sunday 11th October will be at St John’s at 4.30pm and not here at 6.30pm.

Church Wardens Need Help

We are looking for Church members who would like to help at 10.00am services on Sunday Morning. It would mainly be help with putting in the rail prior to Communion and guiding people to the altar rail during the service. Occasionally help is also needed at concerts , weddings and funerals. If you feel you could help , please speak to Caroline, Derek or Valerie. Thank you.  Additionally, a sidesperson is required for the 8.00am service. Please contact one of the wardens if you feel able to help. This would mean one Sunday in every four weeks.
