The Peregrines Return

Some good news is the return of the peregrine falcons.  We believe a pair are making a scrape in the tower area at the point where the staircase finishes. Do look out for them. If they establish themselves, it will be good news, as they will help to control the numbers of feral pigeons and seagulls.  Perhaps we should name them –  any ideas?

Sunday marked the beginning of Christian Aid week and we were delighted to welcome Samuel Williams  from Christian Aid to preach at the 10am service.  Ronnie King, our Christian Aid rep, has worked very hard decorating the Coffee Shop for the special day  on Tuesday 16th May when all the Coffee Shop profits will go to Christian Aid.  There are Christian Aid envelopes inside the Today Sheet this week—please give generously.

Christian Aid is the official relief and development charity for 41 UK Christian denominations and its motto is: “We believe in life before death”, Christian Aid works wherever there is a need:

We have more than 70 years’ experience of working in partnership to support communities to thrive.  We tackle the root causes of poverty so that women, men and children the world over are strengthened against future knocks.  And if disasters happen, we get people the help they want straight away.”
